‘I am not “the same”, I am his son’ –these were the first words of Alexey Kotenotchkin, director, studio artist, animator and jury member of the eight Multimatograf festival. In his master class, Kotenotchkin spoke about his father, the famous director of “Nu, Pagodi!” and one of the figures of the Soyuzmultifilm studio, and the caracteristics of cartoon’s production in the precomputer era. The modern technologies were evoked later on.

Former Vologda region vice gouvernor Ivan Pozdnyakov came to our festival. He visited every section of the Multimatograf, watched our best social networks videos, and congratulated us for our 3rd place in Twitter Top-10 Russian trends. -‘More people should come to the festival, as there are many unusual and interesting things worthy of attention here’ said Pozdnyakov.

Here it is, the last day.. Don’t miss it! This morning, as always, Master Classes take place. At 10.30, Alexey Kotenotchkin, director, studio artist and animator, will talk about “Soyuzmultifim’, his animation studio under the USSR, and how it was like to create animations at the time. On the next room, Mikhail Filyaev will be telling about nowadays cinema technologies. Then, at 12.30, Georgyi Molodstov will give a Master Class on festival promotion.

This day, rich in workshops, is almost over. Almost, because at 9.00pm at the MC2 club, the VJ Party VIDEO-Borhch starts! Everybody’s welcome! And what about today’s game competition? It was on Kinect Adventures, on Xbox360, and Kirill Vereshvagin proved skillfull, winning a pretty cool e-book (brand: Pocket Book).

On the second day of the festival, lots of kids came to the Panorama center. ‘We heard about the Multimatograf on Internet’ –told us Natalia Sobenina, mother of two kids. –‘We saw the ad and decided to come’. And for kids it is really interesting and fun to be here: there are lots of games to play. Ellina, 9 : ‘I came to the festival with Mum, Dad, and my little brother. I really liked the room with table games. They showed us differents games, and then we played. . . I can’t remember how it was called. You have to pull out sticks, and the one who makes the tower fall, looses’.

The master class of Carlos Lascano, the Argentinian director, animator and producer, was probably today most awaited event. The self-taught artist spoke about his childhood, in a family where everything was more or less related to art, even his grandmother was a puppeteer. He was breast-fed his ability to draw, while his father transmitted him the love of short stories. When he was still a kid, Carlos tried to create his own cartoons, but they never turned out the way he wanted. ‘I was able to achieve my fantasies only thanks to computer programs’, he explained.

The last screening of works in competition - “Clip” and “short Films” categories, 15 works in each - took place today at the “Royal Cinema”. -‘Compared to yesterday, today program is much lighter in terms of works’ –told Ivan Dembidsky, jury member. ‘No clear leader so far, but I have some interesting works in mind. Even if all have some disadvantages: either the plot is a failure while the rest is alright, or it’s the contrary – a good plot but missing the technique’.

He will be conducting a master class today, from 10.30am to 12.00, about mixed-media animation.

It has been a day full of events and meetings. All day long, guests and artists came into the Panorama Center, and, by the way, many of them are currently at the café Blin’ Clinton, ,where short films from the Russian Festival “Shoty” are shown. And now about the results of the day. Today we got our first winners in the vintage computers competition.
