There are progressive studios in Russia which create high-quality and commercially successful animations, get international awards and participate in awesome projects. Our friends, Toonbox studio is one out of such studios. We’ve already written about them in the context of the festival as the head of the studio, Paul Muntean, came to «Multimatograph» as a jury member not once and the studio was a partner of the previous festival. This time, Toonbox is our general partner, and it’s true to say that the ninth festival will be held thanks to their support.

We have our own traditions we are really proud of. There are retro computers exhibition and «old game battles» (old-school games tournaments) at our festival for 8 (eight!) years. This year is not an exception. Everyone will be able to fight for the title and prizes.

Film director Alexander Kott known for such movies as «Elki 2», «Brest Fortress» and many others will visit this year festival. He is going to take part as a jury member and to carry out a master class for all the «Multimatograph» guests and participants as well.

Our old friends from OAO «Rostelecom», the Vologda office, are again with us to provide the jury members with the high-speed Internet, festival guests and fans with the Internet broadcasting and free Wi-Fi spots. This is the first time we signed a partnership agreement in the native city. And this is the first time we work with «Rostelecom», the Vologda office, on agreement terms but not just friendship we had for years before. And we are negotiating with «Rostelecom» about the terms for the next year which is anniversary one.

By the April 8th, 00:00 Moscow time we received 180 works. Now our operators are in a state of application processing. The quantity of works allowed for preselection can change slightly after all the technical aspects are checked. This year "Short Film" nomination leads in contrast to "Cartoon" nomination which was always the most popular one. By the way, the "Short Film" nomination is held at "Multimatograf" for the second year only.

Our partners, Animated Films Association of Russia, informs that several Russian animation studios will present their series on the large international exhibition MIPTV which will be held from 8 to 11 April in Cannes (France). MIPTV is a leading television market which determines the media content for the year. MIPTV 2013 Exhibition is one of the few places where the leading international TV channels are represented. Аs it was posted before the call for entries will be closed on the 7th (seventh) of April. So there are 5 (five) days left only to send us the work in case you really want to participate in the Festival. We've already received about 130 works up till now. So the preselection will be held soon.

This year we settle down with the Festival in a cozy and spacious "Russky dom", the main exhibition space in a very center of the city. In April 26-28 there exactly all the Festival events will take place. Among them workshops, exhibitions, championships, and of course, our traditional gala concert where the best festival works will be presented to the audience. By the way, in case you're a talented artist and didn't apply up till now: hurry up! We are already previewing the competition works! April, 7th is the deadline.

We've opened the call for entries for the ninth Festival a little less than a month ago. And now we've already received 76 works. So after some offhand mathematical calculations it is obvious that we receive average 2 works a day. By the way about two weeks are left till the end of the call for entries. Deadline is 11 p.m. April, 7th.

The call for entries for the ninth "Multimatograf" is open! We accept works in five nominations: "Cartoon", "Music video", "Short film", "Video-art", "Wild". Maximum number of submitted works from one author must not exceed 4, maximum number in one nomination - 2. In order to become a festival participant, you need to register on the website.
