The larger company is the more interesting festival will be. That is why we cooperate actively not only with the animation studios, but the organizers of other festivals. For example the International Youth Film and Animation Festival «METERS» which is held annually in Tver will show the best works on our festival. The fourth «Meters» program consists of 70 films from 23 countries and the best of them will be shown on ninth «Multimatograph».

We have already wrote that our permanent partner «Toonbox» studio will present their cartoons «Qumi-Qumi» and «Shaman» in Cannes on the largest international MIPTV exhibition . Vologodians and guests of our festival will also have the opportunity to see an animated series «Qumi-Qumi» on the big screen in a movie theater «Royal Cinema» on April 28 from 11:00.

Good news, friends! At the festival you will be able to participate in the tournament from Wacom and compete for the prize — the tablet Bamboo Fun small! The tournament will be held in «Russkiy Dom», in the exhibition space from 26 to 28 April. Everyone is welcome to come and paint a masterpiece on a given topic. Pictures will be judged by the jury of the festival, and the results will be announced at the gala.

We've already wrote about our passion for the old school, but today we want to tell you about our most modern and trendy thing. It's about the VJ and mapping. There will be special "corner" for VJs at the festival where they will ba installing, perform projections, mapping in real-time. We also organize an educational program in which beginners and master VJs will be able to communicate and share their experience.

13 hours of our Monday we spent on a preselect and we selected those works that will be included in five nominations of our program. If your piece of work didn't pass the preselect procedure we kindly ask you not to despair, but to perfect your skills (for example on our festival master classes). And we will look forward for your applications next year.

Our partner, Cinematographers union of Russia Youth Centre, has prepared a shaw of the best student and debut films of the year 2012, which were awarded by leading domestic film festivals. The most interesting, vibrant and unusual animated films were chosen for display in the «Multimatograph» . Program will be presented by Aliona Sycheva, a film historian, animated films director, head of the CU RF Youth centre.

The preselect for Ninth Festival is going on at this certain moment. Preselect is the selection procedure for works to participate in the festival. Selection is made by the selection committee, which includes representatives from the organizing committee. We look for formal compliance of work to the festival regulations.

We've finally formed the jury for the Ninth Festival! It includes: Alexander Kott, Paul Muntean, Vadim Demchog, Alexey Dubrovin, Alexey Zorin, Georgiy Molodtsov. And no, we did not forgot about Ivan Dembitsky. He is a jury memeber as always, as he is with us from the very first festival! He is our real lucky mascot :)
