Dear friends! It's great to see «Multimatograf» developing with every year, finding new friends, partners. I feel happy to notice, that people know about the festival, appreciate it, love it and are proud of it. «Multimatograf» has been noncommercial ever since it was founded. Participation, educational program and gala-concert have always been and is going to be free of charge for festival participants. We believe, that self-realization must be affordable for everybody. If you feel a sense of complicity to «Multimatograf», promote the same ideas as the team of organizers and I do, you can support the festival financially.

It's less than a month left until the call for submission for the 7th festival will be closed. The organizers have received 42 works already, 27 of which fully satisfy all the requirements. Speaking about the geography, this year Ukraine is very active in sending works, and actually there are quite a bunch of works from abroad (Azerbaijan, Canada, the USA). Russia is represented by Tolyatti, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yoshkar-Ola and Ekaterinburg.

On Saturday the whole country of Russia was choosing the talisman of 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi. Our festival talisman was chosen long ago — this is the cute green cat Mulya. The author of her first image was one of the festival founders, Yevgeniy Tselik. Painted then, 7 years ago, the cat looked totally different from the today Mulya. Her final look was created by the flash-animator from Moscow Arina «Flashtuchka» Kazimirova.

Movie Research Company has provided the results of the research «Russian Animated Films». The company has calculated the box office earnings of the animated films in the russian film distribution. According to the research, the gross box office earnings make 6,03 billion rubles and have shown a rise by 66,8%. Foreign animated films gathered 5,3 billion rubles, domestic — the record 721,9 million rubles. The previous record was set in 2007, with the sum of 297,4 million rubles.

It's exactly two months left until the call for participants and works for the VII Festival is closed. The organizers have already received 8 creations, which satisfy all the technical requirements. The participants, that sent the works represent the following cities: Tolyatti, Zelenograd and ukranian Alchevsk. All the authors have already participated in the festival before.

Vologda is to become the center of multimedia art again in April, and now the organizers of «Multimatograf» are opening the call for participants for the seventh festival. The works, realized in different techniques arer accepted to the festival until April 11. It may be classical, plasticine, Flash and made with a digital photo camera animation.

Moscow movie theater «35 mm» is about to host the British Animation Awards festival. The program will consist of the laureate films of the years 2009-2010. In the period between 20 and 23 of January the viewers will be shown 21 films, realized in different techniques. Among the works there will also be the next series of the famous «Simon’s Cat».

The premiere of the short cartoon «I love you» took place on the night of December 1 in the Internet. Its author — Rinat Timerkaev. The video is made in anime style and actually is devoted to Ekaterinburg. In the five minute video beautiful Ekaterinburg views and monuments are shown. Though the plot is based on the relationships of a couple in love, this piece of art is devoted to the city and its mood.

VIII International Festival of Animation Art «Multivision» will be held in St Petersburg from Dec 3 – Dec 12. More than 250 films from different countries will take part in it. The main worksite of the festival will be «Rodina» («Motherland») Cinema. Besides, the movie theatre «Mirage Cinema» in Ozerki will also hold some screenings.
