During the weekend members of the selection board have been watching works received from the participants. At first, only Saturday was planned for the preselection, but it turned out to be impossible to cope with the task within a day. So, 105 works have passed through the selection: 50 cartoons, 15 videos, 15 short films, 14 works in "Wild" and 11 works in "Video-Art". The few authors were recommended to transfer their works to another nomination.

The preselection procedure of all received works will be held tomorrow, on April, 14. The works which will participate in the competition and will be judged by the jury will be selected. The selection board that includes members of the organizing committee will have a difficult task. They will need to watch 183 works that makes more than 10 hours. It's cool - so many videos during just one day!

The winner of more than 30 international awards, an Argentine director known for his works in animation and illustration, Carlos Lascano, is visiting the festival as a guest. Carlos will hold a master-class and share his experience — his special approach to animation and mixing media techniques. Also he is going to analyse the process of making his latest short film "A Shadow of Blue".

At 23:59 Moscow time (+3:00), April 8 we closed the call for entries for our festival. So, the organizing committee has received 153 works and it is a new record (last year there were 150 works). And it's quite a stable situation – each year beats the preveious in the quantity of sent material. Geography: Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine, Armenia, the Great Britain, Austria, Iran, Taiwan, France, Venezuela, Estonia.

And now we are starting to indulge you into the events of the eigth “Multimatograf”. To all those who love audiovisual art – besides the five main nominations we will have Vjing represented with a row of events – master-classes, screenings, night events. The guests in the framework of this section will be Vladislav Severtsev, director and mastermind of the Audiovisual academy, Cyberbrothers, Russian Visual Artists and Mr Lupin, one of the most talented Vjs in Switzerland.

Everyone who wants to participate in Multimatograf festival has only one week left! We'll close the call for entries on April, 8 at 11:59 pm MSK. At the moment we have 95 works. As usually, the "Cartoon" nomination occupies the leading position, other nominations have approximately equal number of works. The map of our participants is also worth mentioning — Ukraine, Belarus, Iran, Austria, Taiwan, France, Great Britain, Venezuela. We are waiting for works from Australia, Chile, Congo and Antarctica.

Today is already a month since the call for entries for the eighth "Multimatograf" has been opened. The organizing committee has recieved 51 works and among all the nominations the first place is taken by "Cartoon" (15 works are already sent into this nomination). We are also glad that the new nomination "Short film" doesn't lack attention: we have already got seven "shorties".

The Wall-E creator, vice-president of Pixar, twice Oscar laureate Andrew Stanton will perform a free lecture at Digital October. The event will be held on March 5, at 3:30 pm. The lecture is called "How to tell tales" and Mr. Stanton will discuss the animation world, functions of producers in the sphere of animation and how to create a story that will fascinate the world.

Hurray, guys! The long-expected has finally come – “Multimatograf” is officially opening its call for entries for the upcoming festival. We have come to the eight “Multimatograf” with drastically new changes. First of all, it's th nominations. To the traditional “Cartoon”, “Music video”, “Video art”, and “Wild”, “Short film” was added. Secondly, for the first time in the festival history, it will last the whole three days!
