-‘Jury members asked for some works to be rejected, but then for some others the room burst into applause...’– told Maxim Petryaev, “Multimatograf” festival director, when just out of the “Royal Cinema”, where jury members watched some of the works in competition. They have watched 50 works from the “Cartoon” category, 14 from the “Wild” one, and 11 “Video Art” works.

-Touch them! Touch them! We strongly encourage it! –said Andrey Marinov, organizator of the vintage computer exhibition, while nodding to the old computers. Battles on vintage computers are happening now at the Panorama, within the traditionnal old school technologies exhibition of the Multimatograph. Competition between gamers will be on for the three days. And there are prizes to win every day!..

Friends, here comes what we have been waiting for! At this minute, the eight Multimatograf festival starts. “Panorama” shopping center in Vologda -27 Chehova Street – is filled with voices, artists are getting registered, guests are coming in. Screening of works in competition is about to start at the “Royal-Cinema”. From 11.00am to 3.00pm, you will be able to watch the works in the company of our respected jury members. The works are under “Cartoons”, “Video-Art”, and “Wild” categories.

Who knows better than kids about cartoons, and how true they can be? For them, we have organized a special zone, Level_0.0, where the more colorful and fascinating «Cartoon Network» cartoons will be on. On April 28 and 29, special activity leaders will entertain our young guests, making it easy for their parents to enjoy Master Classes and other festival’s activities. Which means that these three days will be an unforgettable experience for everyone, from the oldest to the youngest multimedia lover.

 

The final corrections to our program have been made, making it even more interesting. Useful « Master Classes » animated by some of the most interesting people from the media sphere, vintage computers exposition and the latest games consoles, battles between participants, VJ party, and, of course, high-quality works competition – we filled our three-days festival from bottom to top.

With the festival only a few hours ahead, our office is busier than ever. Soon we will be meeting with you all, for the long awaited opening of our festival. Some of our famous guests are already in town. A stream of VJS are actually coming in, with the arrival tonight of VJ StereoNoize (Tyumen, Russian Federation), closely followed by VJ Alpha (Saint Petersbourg, Russian Federation). And tomorrow, its well-known european VJ Mr Lupin (France) that we will welcome in Vologda.

Чем же еще удивит восьмой "Мультиматограф"? Гала-концерт в этом году откроется премьерным показом комедийного анимационного сериала «Куми-Куми». Серии «Рыбалка», «Солнечная энергия», «Легенда» погрузят всех от мала до велика в удивительный и непредсказуемый абстрактный мир Куми-Куми, где живут три народа – Шуми, Джуми и Юми, и которые общаются на несуществующем тарабарском языке, кстати говоря, интуитивно понятном и не полиглоту:)

For two weeks, six volunteers from Poland, France, Ukraine and South Korea will help us with our festival's organization. This international voluntary work camp is taking place from April, 20 May, 3. During that time, the volunteers will be iving with host families.

This year, the educational program welcomes Barcamp. What is it all about? It is simple : anyone who wants to speak, organize a « Master class », a workshop, a presentation, or share any skills he has and thinks could interest at least one other person… is welcome to join us, in the frame of Multimatograph.
