During the weekend members of the selection board have been watching works received from the participants. At first, only Saturday was planned for the preselection, but it turned out to be impossible to cope with the task within a day.

So, 105 works have passed through the selection: 50 cartoons, 15 videos, 15 short films, 14 works in "Wild" and 11 works in "Video-Art". The few authors were recommended to transfer their works to another nomination. Thus, probably the final list of the selected works will be a bit different, some nuances in several works are being specified. It was decided to allocate two subnominations in the "Short Films" - feature and documentary films.

As it was noted by Maxim Petryaev, the director of the festival: "Two days of preselect is too much! But lots of fun anyway! I think in five years we will have to dive into watching for the whole week. I should say that the level of works, especilly cartoons, is higher this year. And I'm glad that this time we have one more new category "Short Films". And besides, we already have our "work-pets"."

Interesting facts:

• This year we want to point out St. Petersburg University of Cimena and Television as we got a lot of works from students and graduates of this university.
• Special thanks to Krasnoyarsk for the fun animation.
• Lot's of works this year are based on cats (in various forms). Seems to be a new trend.
