We are pleased to announce the beginning of “Multimatograf” festival second day! Be ready : our intensive program is waiting for you!

Top news: our long awaited Argentian guest, the director and animator Carlos Lascano, has finally arrived! He will be conducting a master class today, from 10.30am to 12.00, about mixed-media animation. Lascano skillfully combines differents cartoons techniques –plasticine, hand drawn.. His own works will illustrate his speech. The master class will be in english, but an interpreter will be ready to help if needed. After the master class, you will be able to ask questions and talk with director in a less formal way. In last year festival, Lascano’s works could be watched, and this year, he made his first trip to Russia, to be with us at the Multimatograf!

He shared his impressions with us: ‘I came here two days ago, and Vologda is the first city I visit. It is a really pleasant place, even more than what I expected.’ He also told that ‘in this festival many people are working hard’!..

A lot of others interesting things are happening in Multimatograf today. For example, video mapping artists from France, Tyumen, Saint Petersburg and Cherepovtsa will be present - video mapping being a computer graphics technique that allows you to project 3D videos on walls or buildings. For the three days of the festival, our Petersburgian VJ will be working on the grounf floor of the Panorama,  in a room right in front of the entrance - anyone coming in is immediately appealed by the burst of colors. And tonight, we are waiting for you all at the VJ party at the MC2 club (right near the Chtof), from 9pm. It is going to be unusual –and interesting!

-Such beauty cannot be found anywhere else! - said VJ Ju, Vassili Ostrov. Trying to explain VJing is useless: its like trying to explain how parachuting feels like. You have to see it! It is a real pleasure to be here at the ‘Multimatograf’, where many interesting and creative persons are.’

Also today, the jury will watch works nominated in the “Short films” and “Clip” categories.

And master classes continue! We will carry on learning about modern film and animation technologies. And at 2.00pm, how to get to Mars. Intrigued? Come!
