There is such a good Toonbox studio
There are progressive studios in Russia which create high-quality and commercially successful animations, get international awards and participate in awesome projects.
Our friends, Toonbox studio is one out of such studios. We’ve already written about them in the context of the festival as the head of the studio, Paul Muntean, came to «Multimatograph» as a jury member not once and the studio was a partner of the previous festival. This time, Toonbox is our general partner, and it’s true to say that the ninth festival will be held thanks to their support.
Among the Toonbox works we should mention «Om Nom Stories» (based on the popular mobile game «Cut the Rope»), Qumi-Qumi, «Shaman Mysteries» (winner of six «Multimatograph»), «The Real Adventures of Belka and Strelka», as well as the dozens of advertising animation for the world’s biggest brands. What’s more, this certain studio created Mr. Freeman, one of the best known media brands in Russia. The viewing total number of Mr. Freeman on different resources, including the informal ones, is more than 200 million times.
Web series «Om Nom Stories» recently won iKid Awards (New York) in other words is the best web series on the market. And this is a big breakthrough not only for the studio, but for the whole Russian animation. «Om Nom Stories» is broadcasted all over the world. In the US the first two series of «Om Nom Stories» were shown in cinemas before the Tim Burton’s film «Frankenweenie».
Toonbox was founded in 2008 and in 5 years it grew from a small team of 5 people into a large company with more than 50 professionals from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, New York, Hungary, Spain and France. Best artists only work there and they all are real fans of the work.
We’re very happy with the success of the Russian studio, and we’re even more pleased that we have such great partner!
