The jury began viewing the contest works in the «Royal Cinema» and everyone can join them. At 3 p.m. there will be a screening of animated films directed by Robert Sahakyants. Among them: «Wow, a talking fish," «In the blue sea, in the white foam», «The button». But that’s not all! In the time-cafe «Kruzheva» there will be cartoons for adults from the animators Andrew Bakhurin, Nikolai Belov (Kol-Belov) and Alexander Svirsky. And in the Russkiy Dom we witness the London Festival echo and screenings called «Gotcha!» of Russian and European short films for the whole family. The best program of student and debut films will wait for the audience in the evening

 

Russkiy Dom doors are open for everyone who wish to learn from the experts of our festival. One of the most anticipated master classes today is Mike de Seve’s performance (director and screenwriter for a film about Beavis and Butt-Head). He promises to share the secret of how to write a screenplay for animated films to make the audience love them.

 

Film critic Aliona Sycheva will talk on the rise of film language, and sound designer Vasily Filatov will talk on short films producing. Master class from a leading Russian VJ, Vadim Epstein, will focus on contemporary media installations and supervisor, Boris Lutsyuk, will talk on the creation of visual effects on the example of the film «Underground» . You can discuss the stages for animated films creation with Elena Chernova.

 

For those whose brain starts to work actively in the late afternoon there are workshops from Michail Filyaev and Vadim Smakhtin. The first is going to tell about modern technology of filmmaking, the second — about computer graphicsvcreation.

 

«I am very pleased that everything has started — said Xenia Shorohova, deputy director for the promotion of the festival. — We have prepared chips for everyone — for specialists in a narrow field, and for a common visitors. After all, multimedia technologies are very beautiful. Projection displays in practice are a real show. Moreover we prepared displays designed for the completely different audiences.
