British Animation Awards

Moscow movie theater «35 mm» is about to host the British Animation Awards festival. The program will consist of the laureate films of the years 2009-2010. In the period between 20 and 23 of January the viewers will be shown 21 films, realized in different techniques. Among the works there will also be the next series of the famous «Simon’s Cat».
The name of the festival is originated from the award, which has been given since 1996 for the achievements in all the animation genres. The most different works may participate in the selection process: student, children cartoons, video ads, music videos, experimental art movies.
The award ceremony is held every two years. Every trophy awarded to the winners, — a unique artwork, made by the artists — collegues of the winners and realized in one exemplar. The only common thing of all the prizes — the sketch of the sheep, the bleat of which is denoted by the same letters as the abbreviation BAA — British Animation Awards.
The screening times:
- January 20 (Thu) at 8 pm (the Big Hall);
- January 21 (Fri) at 8 pm (the Small Hall);
- January 22 (Sat) at 6 pm and 8 pm (the Big Hall);
- January 23 (Sun) at 8 pm (the Big Hall).
