It’s the first day of winter and the 6th “MULTIMATOGRAF” festival opens its call for participants.
Creative spirit, unordinary mixture of unordinary ideas and technological “know-how” just in a few years have made the festival not just an outstanding event in the field of multimedia, but a noted cultural phenomenon.
The works for the competition are accepted until April 10, 2010 in various genres irregardless of the used technologies. All “multimedia creations” are divided into four following nominations: “Cartoon”, “Video art”, “Video clip”, “Wild”. The choice of topics is not limited; the most important thing is freedom of self-realization! It’s you who makes the MF style.
The festival is a meeting point for famous specialists in the field of computer art and just beginners who are taking their first steps in this direction. Our history goes five years back. During this time organizers have gathered and watched through more than 300 works from different parts of the world: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Kiev, Brest, Sofia, Prague, New-York.
There is one principal difference between Multimatograf and festivals of the same kind: it is not the specific professional technical parameters of the work, which an average viewer won’t understand, that are being evaluated. The jury primarily looks at the work in general: the creative idea and its harmonious realization by the means of various computer techniques.
The festival’s venue is the ancient Russian city Vologda, which is as old as Moscow is, and rich in cultural and historical sights. Such a worksite in the best way works for the atmosphere of the festival - it gives a splendid opportunity to see and feel the ancient traditions on the background of modern improvisations.
